The Livestock Center is the campus’s most versatile building and will provide the campus with new flexible, year-round space that will support the annual Stock Show and a wide variety of activities, such as: community events, sporting events, graduations, concerts, livestock auctions, trade shows, banquets, and other uses.

Workforce Development

Whiting-Turner has committed to developing and implementing a Workforce Pilot Program for the Livestock Center project, with the intent that it will help increase outreach, provide training, create job opportunities and provide employment opportunities for those in economically disadvantaged areas and populations.

Project Workforce Requirements  

Project Overall Apprenticeship Requirement: Fifteen percent (15%) of Construction Hours will be performed by apprentices in registered apprenticeship programs.*

Targeted Category Requirement: Twenty-five percent (25%) of the overall apprenticeship requirement of work performed by Colorado residents will be performed by apprentices in registered apprenticeship programs who reside in Targeted Areas or that are from Targeted Populations.

First Year Apprentice Requirement:  Twenty-five percent (25%) of the overall apprenticeship requirement will be performed by first-year apprentices in registered apprenticeship programs.*

  • Veterans
  • Justice involved
  • TANF recipients

WORKNOW

The City is currently working with a workforce platform, called WORKNOW. Selected subcontractors shall utilize the WORKNOW platform and coordinate its workforce efforts with any supporting program or resource as applicable. All subcontractors’ strategies must be compatible with the City’s WORKNOW platform and must be adaptable over time to adjust to changing labor market conditions.
