Triangle Project Update

As 2018 winds down, we are pleased to provide this brief update on the National Western Center and future phases of development to complete the campus. What began in 2012 with Denver Mayor Hancock’s commitment to keep the Stock Show in Denver, is now also a transformational redevelopment that is exceeding our expectations. This work to rebuild North Denver will create robust business and industry opportunities, both economic and social, and provide 100 years of regional and state benefits.

The National Western Center Master Plan, adopted by City Council in 2015, outlined 8 phases for the completion of the campus. Design and construction are full steam ahead for Phases 1 & 2 of construction. Originally anticipated as a 10-year construction project and $865 million budget, Phases 1 & 2 are now estimated for completion in 7 years and $765 million.

Phases 3-8 (aka The Triangle) will complete the NWC campus and key assets. After nearly a year of planning, The City and County of Denver will release a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to industry March 1, 2019 for a development partner for the Triangle project.

“The Triangle will complete our commitment to environmental clean-up of the site, ensure the Stock Show remains in Denver and viable and will create jobs for the next 100 years.”said Mayor Hancock “We call upon industry to bring expertise and innovation as our partner to complete this campus.”
