51st Avenue Bridge and Levee Construction Update

The 51st Avenue Bridge and Levee projects are under construction with activity increasing to maximize efforts during the low-flow period of the South Platte River (October-April). As part of the mobilization and construction of the Bridge and Levee, access to some open space and trails within Carpio Sanguinette Park will be impacted.

The Colorado Front Range Trail will have a detour between Franklin Street and E. 50th Avenue from Oct. 6, 2021 to May 1, 2022. Temporary paths have been installed along the detour route and signage is in place to guide trail users. Please see map for route and detour information and obey posted signage on the trail and within the surrounding area.
