People’s Bridge of the Sun

The art installation on the new 51st Avenue Bridge is complete. The art was created by local artist, David Ocelotl Garcia and the concept is titled, “People’s Bridge of the Sun.” Public art at the National Western Center is made possible through the city program that dedicates 1% of capital improvement project budgets to the creation of public art.

On Dec. 30, we were honored to have prominent native elders of the Denver community Carlos Castaneda, Donna Castaneda, Rick Williams and Nita Gonzales come together to bless “The People’s Bridge of the Sun.”
